Here are a few recommended mental health resources from our clinicians.  These mental health organizations have information regarding parenting, child development, trauma and play therapy

Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D.

Dr. Tina Payne Bryson is an internationally acclaimed speaker and author. She addresses parents, educators, camp counselors, and clinicians regarding children’s behavior. Her advice focuses on strategies to help them be happier and healthier. Along with Dr. Dan Siegel, Dr. Payne Bryson co-authored the best-sellers The Whole-Brain Child and No-Drama Discipline.

The Association for Play
Therapy (APT)

The APT promotes public understanding and appreciation of play and play therapy. Play therapists receive their credentials from practicing and supporting play therapy with research, education, and training. They advance the psychological development and mental health of all people. Our members sponsor and support programs, services, and activities that promote our organization’s mission. Finally, we recognize, incorporate, and preserve diversity in play and play therapy.

The National Association for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC)

TLC trains professionals and parents with resources that help children and families going through trauma. Anyone can check out their books and activities for victims looking to heal from their traumatic experiences.

ChildTrauma Academy (CTA)

The CTA aims to improve the lives of high-risk children by providing services, research, and education. This non-profit organization focuses on “translational neuroscience,” which explores emerging findings about the human brain and child development. Their research explores ways to nurture, protect, educate, and heal children. It has resulted in innovative programs in therapeutic, child protection, and educational systems.

The Self Esteem Shop is an excellent source for parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and mental health clinicians.

Kansas Association for Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (KAIMH)

The KAIMH promotes infant and early childhood mental health by providing educational opportunities to professionals. This association advocates for public policies that advance infants’ and children’s social and emotional development.

Zero to Three

As a non-profit organization, Zero to Three delivers resources that ensure favorable early development in babies and toddlers. Parents, professionals, and policymakers can review the latest information in this field.

Child Welfare Information Gateway (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services)

The Child Welfare Information Gateway shares relevant resources about children’s protection and strengthening familial relationships. They cover the latest topics on prevention and permanency, including child abuse, neglect, foster care, and adoption.
